Muslim on travel is basically the same as others, it is even considered as an important “sunnah” as the prophet encouraged his followers to seek knowledge even as far away as China, which indicate that travelling is a good way to broaden our knowledge and experience while to appreciate the bounty of god in all things. I have come to understand why travel is encouraged by Islam. My journey to Japan did not only make me experience the above things but I am now seeing my life in a new light. I learn to appreciate the things I have while at the same time trying to improve myself in every aspect. It is not just the bullet train, their mouth-watering dishes, the hardworking Japanese who are always on the run and all the things that make me “woo” and forget to close my open jaw (I am always surprised by everything in Japan, everything is really interesting and seems ridiculous!). It is about how you keep on uttering “Subhanallah” when you see a beautiful scenery and how you still miss your mom warm cooks in front of all those hard to resist restaurant buffet and how you wish your annoying siblings and friends are there at your side together admiring the Gundam Figure and went all excited seeing the Anime Merchandize. Despite all of the excitement, there is a little bit of matter that we need to concern when we travel such as:
1Halal
First and foremost, Muslim are always searching for products and services that take into account their faith-based needs. Halal is definitely the most important things that Muslim considered. Try imagining you are looking at “Tokyo Banana” (A snack from Tokyo). How soft it is melting in your mouth, beautiful color, banana shapes, comes with many flavor even your favorite one! But too bad… it contains alcohol, a things that are forbidden to us. That is definitely quite a torture to food lover!! Some Muslim only eat if the food product has a certified trusted halal logo on it, while others might eat it as long as there are no prohibited (Haram) ingredients in it, that is free-alcohol, free-pork product. Japan has long strive to be a Muslim Friendly Country. They even have Japan Muslim Center Prefecture that is Chiba! Looking for halal dining facilities in Japan is definitely not a major problem.
